PTFA
WE NEED YOU….
Worthington School PTFA is continuously looking for new members to avoid the risk of coming to an end. We are currently running with 8 active members, all of whom have many other commitments, including young families, jobs and other voluntary roles.
What has been funded by the PTFA
Did you know that without the PTFA in the last academic year alone (2024-2025), your child/ren would not have had two new classroom whiteboards, a free coach to the Christmas Panto and payments towards other school trips, a Christmas gift for each child and the Christmas party, a flag to support the cross-country team events and the year 6 leavers hoodies.
Prior to this, they would not have had the sensory garden, sound system, screen and projector, desks in class one, outdoor canopy, cooker, craft materials, books, Mother’s Day gifts, sports equipment for break and lunch time play and sports events hoodies.
They would also have missed out on events such as; the Olympic village fete, yard sales, school fetes, film nights, school disco, treasure hunts around the village, bonfire night treats at the Malt Shovel, hot chocolate and ice cream Fridays, non-uniform day and break the rules day.
We need your help
We know that everyone is busy and thinly spread. We really do. Because so are we! But we are also passionate about providing extra resources for our (your) children and saving us all money (i.e. on school trips). Without the PTFA raising these crucial funds, the school will have no additional money and resources to spend on our (your) children, and the impact will be felt by them and us as parents, as well as staff at the school.
In addition to active members, we are currently looking for a secretary. Please get in touch if you are can assist.
The more members we have, the less work and tasks we each have! And we all support and help each other continuously. We are a relaxed and friendly bunch of mums, with the same goal. Dad’s and other family members are also very welcome (and encouraged) too.
What needs to be done
Tasks include attending meetings (usually at the village pub!), helping out at events such as film nights, hot chocolate/ice cream Friday, school disco, yard sale/summer fete, asking for and collecting raffle prizes, advertising the events via social media, designing posters and leaflets, delivering leaflets and putting posters up locally, completing application forms for grants…..
- Maybe you are time limited and can only attend some meetings and help with some events – great!
- Maybe you don’t feel confident enough to approach us and/or participate in some events/tasks – it’s ok. We honestly understand and will help and support you. The PTFA is flexible and relaxed, and we are all very approachable.
- Maybe you want more information but are not ready/able to commit just yet – amazing – please let us know and one of us can talk to you and answer any questions.
You can grab us on the school run, meet/talk out of school, or leave your contact details with school and one of us will get in touch.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us.
Kind Regards,
Worthington School PTFA
