Hello and welcome to the Worthington Schools Parent, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA). We are looking forward to the new academic year (Sept 2022 to July 2023), however we really would welcome some new members to help us achieve our fundraising target.
How the money we raise is used?
Each year we ask the Head teacher and teachers for a wish list and then we work together to raise the funds. In previous years we have funded many things including, the Outdoor Classroom, the Adventure Playground, Desks, Laptops, Books and the transformation of school grounds.
Funding for schools resources is being reduced each year so our efforts will focus in the short to medium term on providing essential day to day resources.
Worthington School needs you
Each year we organise a number of events to raise money and to provide social activities for the children. These include the annual Bingo, school discos, film nights, Bi-annual yard sale and Bi-annual summer fair.
If you want to get involved here are some ideas of how you could help:
1. For people who can only spare a few hours each term you could for example help sell the refreshments at the school discos. You don’t need to attend the meetings.
2. For those who can spare a couple of hours a month and would like to be more involved you could attend the meetings and contribute your ideas and opinions
3. For those who can spare 4+ hours a month and would like to get really involved you could take responsibility for specific activities for example organising the prizes for the Bingo
We plan to meet 4 times (dates and times to be confirmed) at the Malt Shovel, starting at 8pm and we would be delighted to see you there. Our main focus is organising the activities but attending the meetings is also a great opportunity to meet other parents and friends of the school in a relaxed and sociable environment.
